Dairy Goat Association of Kenya (DGAK)

Dairy Goat Association of Kenya (DGAK) is a national non-profit and non-governmental organization that was formed out of a project (Integrated Small Livestock Project) which was implemented by the Ministry of Livestock Development (MOLD) in cooperation with GTZ in support of small livestock development. The project itself, which led to the establishment of DGAK, was launched in July 1993 and DGAK was registered in April 1994 with the registrar of societies.

Our Branches

Nyeri Branch serves the following Counties:

  3. Laikipia County
  4. Isiolo County

Murang’a branch covers the following Counties:
1. Murang’a County
2. Kiambu County
3. Nairobi County
Embu Branch serves the following Counties:

  1. Embu County
  2. Meru County
  3. Mbeere
  4. Tharaka Nithi County

West Kenya Branch serves the following Counties:

  1. Kisumu County
  2. Vihiga County
  3. Kakamega County
  4. Busia County
  5. Siaya County
  6. Bungoma County

Kirinyaga branch covering Kirinyaga county
Nakuru Branch serves the following Counties:

  1. Transmara / Narok County
  2. Bomet County
  3. Kericho County

Farmer Based Service Providers

DGAK services to these groups is offered by farmers who are selected amongst the farmer groups.

Selected Multipliers Training

Selected farmers who are using the imported semen on their goats to produce quality bucks for farmer groups.

Training on Good Governance

All DGAK elected officials are trained on good governance for efficient and effective running of the association.
